Revelation 12.12 reads…. “WOE unto the inhabitants of the Earth for the devil has come down with great wrath knowing that his time is short.”

I believe the book of the Apocalypse also called Revelation points out to the days we are presently living. As we compare the Word of God to the present events of human history we can see that apocalyptic times are indeed here. Political Globalization, Natural disasters, wars and rumors of wars, ecological devastation, the move towards a one world economy, violence and death in all areas of our society, the increase of false religions and sects, the moral decadence in our midst, the battle against Christian values and the foundation pillars of our culture and our society.

These are all a part of the most intense attack from the pit of hell against God’s creation and particularly against the Body of Christ. Indeed, the time is short until the Risen Christ returns in all His glory to judge the living and the dead.

September 11, 2000 was a day that shocked our nation. That which had not been done for generations happened, as our nation fell to it’s knees and began to seek the face of the Creator. We as a nation awakened to our vulnerability by religious fanatics that see America as a Christian nation but do not realize that for generations we have forsaken the very ideals of our founding fathers.

President Calvin Coolidge once said “America was born in a revival of religion” The preaching of men like Jonathan Edwards and George Whitefield changed the spiritual landscape of America before the Revolution. Throughout our history we have experienced many times when the Spiritual conditions of the nation have deteriorated, but when America has fallen on it’s knees to cry out to God; The father of mercies has heard our prayers and has healed our Land.

Our history  reflects that times of spiritual revival followed times of national crisis that moved people to pray. It happened in the mid 1700’s, in the early and mid 1800’s in the early 1900’s and in the mid 1900’s. We have now entered into the 21st century and we are presently experiencing a national crisis. What needs to be done?

“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15“Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.

2nd. Chronicles 7.14-15

Our nation once founded on Biblical principles has turned it’s back once again on the God to whom we once declared “In God We Trust” As a result the spiritual condition of our society is one that abounds in vice and lacks in virtue as described by the apostle Paul to Timothy.

2 Timothy 3.1-4

1But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

In the midst of these days which the apostle Paul calls perilous, difficult and hard to deal with, and the prophets, Isaiah, Joel and Zephaniah call days of darkness and gloom we are also seeing and unprecedented outpouring of the Holy Spirit around the world. There is a new sense of Hope in a Church that was hopeless. A hope, that our nation will begin to seek the face of the Holy One of Israel.

If we can learn anything from history we would be well advised to understand that prior to every spiritual awakening that our nation has experienced these are the requirements that the Lord made upon The Church

  • The Fear of the Lord which brings people to repentance. George Barna, one of today’s premier students and researchers in the Church today has written that today there is very little difference in the lifestyle of those who call themselves believers in Christ and those who do not.
  • The Holiness of God which leads people to a sanctified life and Personal holiness. We need to take stock of our lives and indeed make the changes necessary to live a life pleasing to the heart of God.
  • The Intercessory Prayers of God’s People which leads them to call unto God for the salvation of the lost and the transformation of their communities and their nation. A prayer explosion to release the manifestation of God’s Glory through the saints and the Prayer for Social righteousness.

We can all remember the amazing promise of Psalms 2.8

Ask of Me, and I will give You

The nations for Your inheritance,

And the ends of the earth for Your possession.

This is our hope and what we pray towards, that that our cities and our nation will experience a divine visitation that will transform the religious, social, economic, and political structures of our culture and spark an awakening and response of unprecedented proportions amongst the unsaved in this nation.

This is our prayer, that the Church of Jesus Christ be used as an instrument of change in the family, the workplace, the schools, the business and political structures by demonstrating God’s mercy, hope and love. These three.

Jeremiah 29.11-14 declares:

1For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. 14I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.

The writer of the book of Hebrews makes this declaration: “NOW, faith is a confident assurance of that for which we hope and the evidence or conviction of things we do not see.

As we seek God’s face in faith, we too can believe that God is able to change that which appears impossible. Our God is a God of the impossible. Someone once stated “Show me the size of your vision and I will show you the size of your God.”

Today as NEVER before our nation is in the crossroads of either a revival and restoration of moral values, the sanctity of life, marriage, prosperity, and the explosion of a revival amongst the millennial generation OR a crashing downfall of our culture and our economy. WE MUST INTERCEDE for our GOD appointed authorities or surrender to the forces of darkness. Our battle IS NOT against flesh and blood but against Principalities and Powers of darkness and the wickedness of a fallen generation. Our Weapons however are mighty through God to the PULLING DOWN OF STRONGHOLDS.

You may want to buy my book of the same title for an expounded revelation of what we must do at this time.

Our God is an awesome God!
